Lost Happiness
By: Kari-chan

This is a short fic, pretty goofy. It's not the greatest, but it's light-hearted and kinda fun. ^__^ This is dedicated to my pet, hamster, Maria. It's not as romantic as others, but it's still okay!

Again, I would like to mention that I was very young when I wrote this, so don't judge my writing ability on this.

Li Syaoran rushes down the street. Cherry blossoms flutter down in front of him, the sun shines brightly and birds fly gracefully through the blue sky. It is spring, and Li was in a hurry to get to Sakura's house.

Li knocked on a door. A young girl with a kind smile opened it. "Hi, Li!" Sakura Kinomoto greeted. "Hey, Sakura." Sakura led Li into her living room. "This is Happy, my friend Sana's dog." Sakura pointed to a small, white, fluffy puppy in the corner. "Thanks a lot for watching her while I go to the concert with Tomoyo." Li just nodded in return. The doorbell rang. "Oh, that must be Tomoyo! Toya is upstairs, but he's going out with Yuki soon. Thanks, again! Bye!" With that said Sakura hurried out the door.

Li sat down on the couch and opened the graphic novel he brought. "Dragon Ball is a cool manga..." Li commented. Suddenly a grumbling sound echoed from his stomach. "Eh! I'm starving... I forgot to eat breakfast. I think I brought a candy," Li said searching his pockets. He pulled out a pack of Choco-Chews. Li struggled to open the candy, but he couldn't.

Just then Toya walked in. Toya eyed Li who was frustrated with the candy. Toya smirked, "Oh, the big, bad Cardcaptor can't even open a little candy package. Pathetic!" Toya laughed, making Li even more annoyed. Angrily Li stomped off into the kitchen to cut the package with some scissors.

All of the sudden the doorbell rang. Yuki and Sana were standing in the doorway. "Hey Yuki, hey Sana. Oh, I'll get your dog for you. Just a minute." Toya rushed over and brought Happy to his owner. "Thank you. Please tell Sakura I appreciated her watching Happy. Bye now!"

Toya then left with Yuki, after Sana. When Li entered the room he was surprised to find Happy gone. Li figured Toya was gone since he heard the doorbell, and the front door was left ... open?!??! "Oh sh-oot! Where the heck did that dog go? Oh God no! The door! It must of... ran away! Aaaaaaa! What do I do? Sakura will be mad at me!" Li ran outside and searched the yard. He looked like an idiot running up and down the street, frantically calling out "Happy!" Li decided to go to park, since it was a popular dog hang out. He crawled around looking under park benches, climbed trees to see if Happy was stuck and even jumped in the river in case Happy decided to go for a swim and had drowned...

Li went home after hours of looking for Happy. He was very depressed and sure Sakura would never talk to him again.

Later that evening Li called to see if Sakura was mad. Toya answered. "Eh. Hi. Is, umm, Sakura mad at me because I lot her friend's dog? Do you know? Is it safe to talk to her?" Li muttered. Toya smiled evily. "Umm... actually she is very mad." Toya answered. Li frowned. "Okay, then I'll back another time." Li hung up and collapsed on his bed. 'I can't believe it. As soon as I start to get close to her I loose a stupid dog, and now she hates me! It's not fair!' Li thinks to himself.

The next day at school Li avoided Sakura. But it wasn't easy, since they were in the same class... and he sat right behind he.

At lunch Sakura went over to Li to thank him for watching Happy. "Sakura? Ehhhh... I'm sorry!" Li bowed and ran away. Sakura was confused. "What is it? Did I do something?"

This went on for two days. Sakura usually never gets mad, but she was annoyed about how Li was avoiding her. Sakura stomped into class (before it had started) and marched right up to Li's desk. "Li! There you are!" Sakura yelled, catching everyone's attention. Li trembled with fear. "You have been avoiding me for the last few days! Why?" Sakura demanded. Silence. Li got up and ran out of the class room with Sakura close behind him. Li jumped out a window to the tree. Sakura used the Fly Card and followed him. Li started to panic. He jumped from tree to another, but couldn't loose Sakura. Sakura used the Firey Card and blocked Li's path. "Aaaaaaaaa! Sakura, are you CRAZY? You're gonna kill me!" Li screamed. He turned around to see Sakura steaming. "WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING ME??????" Sakura screamed fiercely.

Li stared at the ground. "I lost your friend's dog." Li murmured. Sakura looked shocked. "No you didn't. Sana came at the same time as Yuki and Toya returned the dog then." Sakura explained. Li was flabbergasted. From the high school yard beside them Toya laughs hysterically. "Grrrrr! You a-" Li is interrupted by Sakura. She hands him a bag. "It's a thank you present for watching happy. And I guess it caused you a lot of trouble. Sorry 'bout my brother." Sakura said smiling. Li blushes cutely. Toya, looking quite disgusted, leaves for class.

On their way back to class Sakura nudges Li. "Hm?" Li looks at her. "Can you watch Happy again on Sunday? Hehe!" Li falls over and starts to twitch.
